"Mean girls club" reminder!

The film is edited, the comic is bound, the prints are signed and numbered.

I hope you can make it to the opening in Portland at the Wieden + Kennedy Gallery on July 3rd, from 6 to 10 p.m.

Shortly after the show opening, I'll be releasing the limited edition comic book, two new silk screens based on artwork from the comic book, as well as several new prints on my website.  Stay tuned for announcements.

"MEAN GIRLS CLUB" Installation opens July 3rd

I have always wanted the chance to create a risograph comic book.  To compose some weird music.  To shoot a short film.  To build a small structure.  To design wallpaper.  To make some silk screens.  To do some large typography paintings.

Well, thanks to the Wieden + Kennedy Gallery in Portland, OR, I am able to explore all of these things for my upcoming "MEAN GIRLS CLUB" art installation, which opens on July 3rd.  Taking a break from my usual painting content, the show delves into the black hearts of the Mean Girls, bringing them to life via all of the above media and techniques.

In addition to the installation portion, I will be releasing six new small-run giclee prints, in addition to the new comic book, silk screens, and various signed books.

I will be posting images and teasers on Instagram, but for now, here is the basic info:

This show was curated by our friend and Roq La Rue photographer, Robbie Lowery, in response to his wife’s diagnosis and treatment of cancer.  The help and support they received prompted Lowery to try to raise some money to help others affected by this horrific disease. As a result, a total of half the profits of all sales (taken from half the artist profit AND half Roq La Rue’s profit) will be donated to three cancer research charities, the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, Seattle Children’s Hospital, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
